Ms. Lisa Ober, Principal

This year marks my 17th year with Cabarrus County schools and my 25th year in education. During this time, I have taught kindergarten, first, second, third, and fourth grades as well as serving as an MTSS coach for grades 3-5. My leadership journey began at Weddington Hills as a PLC lead and summer school supervisor before I made the transition to assistant principal at WROPS. I have learned from some of the best administrators in the district over the last several years and I am honored to continue using those skills as principal to uphold the traditions and high standards of WROES.

I am originally from Virginia but have called North Carolina home since 1998. I have my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from James Madison University and my Master's degree in administration from Appalachian State University. I am currently in the doctoral program for Curriculum and Instruction at Gardner Webb University. I have two wonderful sons, Zach and Matt. Zach is 30 and has high-functioning autism; he receives day support from What Matters Most. Matt is 27 and a vet tech in Concord. I am a lifelong Tar Heels fan, have an amazing grandpup named Nugget and love true crime podcasts!

Mrs. Anna Austin, Assistant Principal

I am glad to be able to serve the Odell community as your Assistant Principal. I am homegrown right here in Cabarrus County. I went to Winecoff Elementary, Northwest Middle and High. This is my 16th year in education. After graduating Meredith College, in Raleigh N.C. With a B.A. In Psychology & a K-6 Licensure I taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade for a total of 8 years in the classroom. I transitioned to the role of an MTSS/Behavior Coach and began my leadership journey. I received the Principal Fellows Grant, served as a principal intern at Northwest High School (2021-22) and graduated from UNCC with my master's in 2022 and began my wonderful journey at Odell.  

I am married to my high school sweetheart; we have 2 young boys and a pup. When not working, we enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to NCSU football games (GO PACK!), traveling, and creating memories with our boys.
