Reminder: Early dismissal for Cabarrus County Schools on Wednesday, September 10th.

#1 📌 REMINDER: Early Dismissal for traditional school students on 9/10...and it's FAIR DAY!

All CCS schools, with the exception of Early Colleges, will dismiss early on Wednesday, Sept. 10th.

Early dismissal days are scheduled throughout the year to allow for staff professional development in the afternoons. For a complete list of early dismissal days, please visit our Bell Schedule webpage.

Wednesday, Sept. 10th, is also school night at The Cabarrus County Fair. The Fair opens today and will continue through Saturday, Sept. 13th. School Night at the fair is Wednesday, Sept. 10th with free admission for Cabarrus County students. Check Your Child’s Book Bag for a ticket! Be on the lookout on Sept. 10th for the free admission ticket (example below) coming home in your child’s book bag—just present the card at the gate for entry and enjoy a night of fun!

#2 CCS Futures Fair set for October 15th at Cabarrus Arena

Program Choice Fair | College Fair | Career Fair | Military Fair

Cabarrus County Schools will host its 4th annual Futures Fair at the Cabarrus Arena and Event Center on Wednesday, October 15th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. In conjunction with the annual Program Choice Fair for specialized programming, this year’s event will again include military and career recruiters, as well as more than 110 college representatives under one roof.

#3 CCS Preview of Champions is scheduled for Sat., 9/13

The Cabarrus County School’s Preview of Champions is an annual event in which all of the marching band programs in our area come together to premiere their competitive field productions. It will be a great evening of pageantry and camaraderie.

Location: Mount Pleasant High School
Date: Saturday, September 15, 2025
Time: Gates open at 4:15pm, event starts at 5pm

#4 Need-to-Knows

SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL SCHOOL ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH: Throughout the month, Cabarrus County Schools will raise awareness of the importance of school attendance through weekly messaging. The slogan for this year’s campaign is Here Today, Ready for Tomorrow! which not only highlights how schools offer opportunities for students to gain a solid foundation for a healthy and productive life, it also lifts up the connection between regular attendance, success after graduation and a well-prepared workforce. Be our partner and join the 2025 Attendance Awareness Campaign today! IMMUNIZATION DEADLINE: By the 30th calendar day of the school year, all students must have any required immunizations. This year, those dates are Sept. 9th for traditional calendar students and Sept. 11th for Early College students. You can find out more about North Carolina immunization requirements and CCS policies pertaining to immunizations by visiting the CCS Parents Bill of Rights webpage.

NC COLLEGE CONNECT FOR SENIORS: NC College Connect is a first come, first serve opportunity for direct admission in participating NC colleges. This groundbreaking initiative offers direct college admission to eligible high school seniors across the state for the 2025–2026 school year! Open to public high school seniors with a weighted GPA of 2.8 or higher who meet course requirements, students will be matched with colleges where they already qualify — no traditional application needed. 
Eligible students will be notified soon via U.S. Mail and will be able to accept their offers by completing a short form on CFNC.org

Inaugural CCS Family Technology Night

Join us on Sept. 25th from 5-8PM at Concord High School for Cabarrus County Schools’ first-ever Family Technology Night—an exciting, hands-on event designed to connect families with the digital tools their students use every day. This evening will offer opportunities to explore platforms like Google Workspace, Canvas, Clever, and Promethean boards, while also providing on-site support with student logins, parent portals, and device access.
Families will have the chance to attend mini-sessions on digital citizenship, screen time, and internet safety, and connect directly with staff and tech experts. There will be interactive booths and giveaways to help make the night both informative and fun.
