As we look ahead to May and the close of another incredible school year, I want to begin by congratulating Madison Liddle of Harold E. Winkler Middle School, who has been named the 2025–2026 Cabarrus County Schools Teacher of the Year.
Madison exemplifies the passion, dedication, and innovation that define our educators. Her commitment to student success and her leadership within the school community inspire us all. Congratulations, Madison, and thank you for representing the very best of Cabarrus County Schools.
As we turn the calendar to May, we enter one of the most important and exciting times of the school year. End-of-year testing, celebrations of learning, and graduations are just around the corner—and with them come opportunities to reflect, encourage, and finish strong.
End-of-year testing, celebrations of student and staff success, and graduations are just around the corner—and with them come opportunities to reflect, encourage, and finish strong.
To our incredible students: stay focused, give your best effort, and take pride in how far you've come. Your hard work matters. Every lesson learned, every goal reached, and every challenge overcome will be beneficial for you throughout your future.
To our dedicated teachers, staff, and school leaders: thank you for your unwavering commitment in supporting the work of Cabarrus County Schools. The final stretch can be demanding, but your encouragement and guidance make all the difference in helping students reach the finish line with confidence.
And to our families and community: your support has been vital all year long. Let’s continue to work together to ensure a successful close to the school year and to celebrate the incredible achievements of our students, especially the Class of 2025.
Let’s finish strong—together.
Stay well,
Dr. John Kopicki
Superintendent, Cabarrus County Schools
